Finish/cosmetic Repairs

When I was working for Paul Reed Smith Guitars, Paul once called us to a meeting to discuss a problem: people were buying PRS Guitars but storing them away instead of playing them. What a shame! He said something to the effect of (and I am paraphrasing here): ‘the best thing you can do with a new guitar is knock it into something, then it’s yours and you can use it fearlessly.’

Having the benefit of performing maintenence on well worn PRS and other guitars…there is nothing like it. This is how guitars can age like wine: they get played…a lot. And so shit happens.  I think it was Thomas Mann that famously wrote about this phenomenon…the thing that’s loveable about another is precisely some imperfection, it’s the artists craft to put a beautiful frame around them.

If I believe I can do that, I will. On a per case basis and no guarantees. I’ll most likely encourage you to simply accept those chips and dings.
